I dont see any help coming in from other linemen, they are telling people they are looking at up to 2 weeks to get power

SLECA in Houma is sending a few linemen to help Panola Harrison Electric COOP. They left on Friday.

I drove home the day after and I saw 3 convoys of line trucks heading north. Hope it helps.

It is travel ball season, baw, and Jaxxton was hitting with a 60mph tail wind two towns over. Scouts were blown away.

Coming up on 36 hours with no power. Have not seen a truck in my neighborhood or my parents neighborhood.

The comparison of response across geographic areas and various municipalities is always interesting. We were without power for right at five days after 4/27/2011, but that involved significant damage to substations and catastrophic damage to high tension powerlines near a river crossing and closeby a nuclear power plant.

Our power has been out three times this week, all storm related. We were out for five days after the 2022 ice storm and nine days after Hurricane Laura. Our town has a municipally owned power system. Revenue goes into the general fund to cover other shortfalls rather than reinvested in infrastructure, like trimming back the right of ways. So the power goes out in a strong breeze, and a moderate to severe storm turns into a crisis.

While I hate the looks of the butchered trees along power right-of-ways here, I understand why it is done. They've done well over the years to keep the most obvious pontential issues taken care of. They also seem to have a good system in place for rerouting power supply when needed. The repair work I mentioned earlier involved rerouting supply for multiple areas through different substations. Considering what had to be done, they did well. They got vital services for hospitals and such back on first, then worked out from there.

It’s not just tree damage, I’ve never seen so many snapped poles, all snapped about 4 or 5 feet off the ground.

I grew up in NWLA, and and the longest we ever lost power was for 2-3 hours. That area hasn’t been hit as hard as South Louisiana in the past few years, but it’s been hit pretty damn hard.

We are back on! I owe the lineman an apology. It gets rough when it's 95 with 70% humidity.

Flickered twice in Jefferson Terrace. Cooled off enough to sit on the patio at least and watch some ball and golf
