I feel sorry for Picadilly, they are trying to hold on to an outdated business model and refuse to update their menu. It's like watching a really old person at the end of their life.
A really delicious old person, maybe.

The Londoner
The food is pretty solid. I had a hamburger there that was quite good.

They close the liquor part as early as 8pm on a Friday, baffling

Chinese Inn on Airline by the car dealerships near the old woman's hospital.
Ain't nobody ever there & I've not set foot back in the place in +20 years.

I'd say Boutin's but it appears they've closed or are about to close. (Thread on F&D board about Roux 61 moving in there.)
Sears at the Mall of LA always seems dead to me. I park there when I go to the mall, and just walking through is pretty depressing.
Does The Times Grill ever have a lot of business? My husband and I went there for lunch one day and there were only about 3 other tables seated. That surprised me 'cause I thought they would be busy at lunch like a lot of other places on Essen. Food wasn't that great either.

-The cuts of meat are cheaper/fattier. -The sauce is more like spicy ketchup now. -They managed to screw up the beans.
Fat is where the flavor's at.
I honestly haven't noticed anything different in their sauce or beans and I've been going there as long as I can remember. In fact I could kill for their beans.
Filthy, run down and empty I can't argue with. But my guess is that's more to with location than actual food itself. But I'm fond of reliable tasting food that's good.
Hell, I still miss the Hickory Stick.

GN Gonzales-I know of very few people who have actually purchased a bike there. I heard the manufacturers made them do some renovations recently as they were threatening to pull the dealership. If it weren't for the nearby plants bringing traffic to the area I think they would have closed long ago.
They sell a frick ton of bikes and ATVs. A lot more than anyone else in town. They always have.
The renovations were long overdue and they did a good job.

India's on Essen. Gotta be a mafia front.
There does seem to be a little "business" possibly going on there but the food is excellent.

Each to his own. No worries.

Burlington Coat Factory--very few people in it whenever I've gone, and that place is nasty. Granted, I haven't been back there in about 8 years, since I saw shite smeared on the bathroom walls.
(Yes, I went to the bathroom there--little choice with a potty-training toddler.)

You're so right about Times Grill on Essen. We went on a Friday night around 6:30 and there were 3 tables. A total of 7 people in restaurant.

My wife and I really have a dislike for ninfas. I went there once and it was trash. The service was even worse.
One of the best things about tex-mex restaurants is chips and salsa beforehand. Last time I went to Ninfa's, the red salsa was literally just tomatoes/tomato sauce. There was no cilantro, onion, garlic, jalapeno, cumin, lime, nothing. It was disgusting and sour. The meal sucked too. This was after someone I was with had a tray of water spilled on them.

The Londoner - I hear people go to Bulldog, Cove, Uncle Earls and downtown bars (3rd street). This place usually looks dead when I drive by.
Dillard's Clearance Center @ Cortana - I mean, are the bargains that good to make a trip to Cortana?
Londoner parking is in the back, that's why you can't see how many people are there.
And yes, Cortana is half the price for the same shite as MOL. Totally worth it.

And I was referring to the bar next to Waffle House not Waffle House
Port Royal? they get a big service industry crowd. Has done well enough that the owner has opened two additional bars

Ninfa's lost its luster years ago

Ha, I have thought that place was actually closed for about 5 years.
