Now that's a power move from Walk-Ons. Just flat passed on the money to not deal with the crowd.

They're just grounded in the reality their service staff would just call in. The managers don't want the place open, they'll be the ones waiting on tables and tending bar.

frick that shite.

The pictures in the link clearly show that the floor was ripped up to fix the broken plumbing.

Walk Ons closing in 2016 is why Brees will never have his statue in Lee Circle.

It was a racist move by a racist owner.

My step daughter worked wait staff at several establishments in the FQ for years while going to school. She has said that the Essence festival crowd spends money/tips, no different from any other tourist event, and is nothing like the Bayou Classic crowd.

Essence Fest is middle to upper class blacks flying in from across the nation.

Bayou Classic is...not...

They have 30 planes crashed at the end of the runway in Accra. They been there for 30 years. Ghana might have 3 active planes flying around.

International flights belong to other countries.

There will be no massive influx of air traffic from Ghana...lol

Are you serious?

First of all, who ever suggested that a statue of Drew Brees is appropriate for Lee Circle?

Secondly, are you seriously thinking that Drew Brees isn’t loved by the community, black and white, because of that 2016 dust-up with Walk-On’s?

People want to get big mad over restaurants closing that week, but it's 4th of July week. Not all that crazy to take a summer break.

The simplest response is to autograt every ticket 20% during that week.

Be proactive of the social media outrage & have a proper all points covered statement prepared:

"In order to fully staff for thus popular 4th of July holiday week to properly & effectively provide the great service that (insert eatablishment) customers have come to expect; we will be placing a 20% gratiuity on all tables. We thank you for your continued patronage of (insert establishment) & know that you will enjoy your experience.

Any "outrage" from social or actual media is simply met with a response of "we have the bulk of our staff trying to request off for their own vacation time during this holiday week. In order to properly & fully staff for the week, we have to offer our employees an incentive to commit to our available shifts."

Never mention race or the Essence Fest itself. Continue to answer based on 4th of July. Simple as that.

Like clockwork a bunch of people wearing racially colored glasses that have been to New Orleans for vacation a couple times comes in here discussing a festival they have never been to.

Buncha Bozos with dick envy. Go cheer for the indepenance bowl Clowns and stay in your lanes.
