Good for her.

I have to agree with this right here. I've seen too many women subjected to this kind of indecent behavior by men and it's outright disturbing.

Don't get me wrong. I don't know the details of the case. I'm not down with people getting away with something if they get caught doing something wrong... but at the end of the day, someone got 55 million for being seen against their will while naked. That's crazy.

It's really kind of fricking nuts how hung up on the dollar amount some of you are. Then again, you openly admitted that you know absolutely nothing about the case.

I would imagine that you would have a very different opinion on this case if it was someone you were related, married or dating.

But women are generally wired differently, and you could tell from the testimony that this was traumatic. I doubt she would have exchanged a naked video of herself for $55 million, even if she knew in advance.

She had no problem wearing this suit at a public beach. Do you really think she wouldn't remove the two, itty-bitty pieces of clothing for $55,000,000?

The fact that you don't understand the difference between a peeping tom in a Marriott hotel and a public beach is frightening. But not shocking in the least bit.

I'd be pretty thrilled, ready to lawyer up and make some $$$.

Celebrity settlement. It's a ludicrous amount of money for what she dealt with. Not saying she shouldn't get something, but that's just stupid. Must have been in California.

There's millions of peeping toms and stalkers throughout the country. I agree that the Marriott fricked up. Big time. However, I do think the damages are excessive.

Seriously, all I've read online about this case is how Erin Andrews doesn't deserve that kind of money or how this "made her career". Why on earth do people feel the need to point fingers at the victim is beyond me. How about calling Marriott out on their arrogance/stupidity instead?

Again, getting hung up on the dollar amount is pretty fricking stupid in this situation.

this and consenting...IMO the consent is a bigger issue than the public beach.

I, for one, think that X amount fits for Y offense. Ever heard of a punishment that fits the crime? Yes, when there are such extreme values I believe it's good to have those values make sense. I did want to openly admit my ignorance to the case SO that my opinion and angle could be transparent. I am open to any logical metric you could explain that warrants 55 -million- for this type of offense? I also don't really care how this plays out. I didn't know about the case, and I wouldn't have kept up with it had I known it was going on. I was just bored enough to chime in, and now plenty bored enough to defend my position.

I have never been tempted by 55 million dollars, but I don't believe for a moment I could accept that much. Moreover, I am CERTAIN I would never sue for that much (or more).

The hotel was absolutely in the wrong. Honestly, it's shocking how they could allow this screwup.

That amount of money though... Get real.
