The last time something like this was attempted, they gave us love bugs....frickers.

"Unlike traditional mosquito control, we don't show up after you have a problem," according to MosquitoMate's FAQ. "By acting proactively, your population of Asian Tiger mosquitoes will not reach a nuisance level."

Until they mutate

Sounds similar to the sterile insect program that's been going on for years.

All jokes aside, this actually sounds like a great idea. They’re not genetically modifying anything, they’re naturally sterilizing the males who will mate with females in the wild who will in turn lay eggs that never hatch.

It does....in theory. Then the mutation comes and female mosquitoes end up having 10 times the number of young

If I remember correctly, Wolbachia bacteria affects small numbers mosquitoes in nature already. They’re just adding more infected mosquitoes to the population.

I'd rather 10,000 love bugs than 1,000 mosquitoes

Just shoot the chest with an arrow before opening. Plus, Mimic chest loot is never good (unless there’s an effigy/ember).
