Can anyone fill me in on exactly how this is calculated? I can pretty clearly see the usage and the rate they multiply that by. Is this number the same for everyone in the area and it's determined by entergy each month or does that number change based on your consumption as well?

they are bending you over, and unless you can create your own energy, it will never change.

it's directly proportional to your income. They charge you as much as they think you can afford.

I'm glad we have Demco. Our electric bill was higher with Entergy in our previous 1420 sq ft house than our current 2580 sq ft.

Income-based. Somebody has to pay for Entergy for those that can't afford it.

Old, 3 story, poorly insulated. Two units.

And that is even leaving it on reasonable temperatures.

77 during day when no one home.

73 when get home.

71 to sleep.

One good thing is dont have to deal with Entergy anymore. Texas rates have been increasing the past 6 months with the closure of several coal fired plants, but luckily I'm still locked into my plan. May bill was $85 and my April bill was $34 for a 2,450 sq ft house, 2 story, single pane windows but well insulated and attic stairs tent.

TX has deregulated energy so you can pick from dozens of plans and companies. In LA you are stuck with the company that services your address which thankfully is Demco for us.

Yes, I'm not happy with the $85 but we were remodeling kitchen and master bathroom at same time and had doors open for several hours at a time each day.

Our june bill should be around $80-$85.

Deregulation in TX, so you can shop around between 64 providers and each provider has various plans totalling 318 different plans for our area in NW Houston. We have never used the same provider twice. Always shop around on www.powertochoose.com to get best rate that fits our needs.

We are moving mid July and was able to keep our same plan in the new house. New house is much bigger at 3900 sq ft so we'll see how much the bills are in comparison. But it was built in 2011 with radiant barrier, well insulated, double pane windows.

How is it income based? They've never asked me for my income,I have entergy in MS. Is it different in Louisiana?
