About once a month the block on Bluebonnet between Perkins and Highland, the power seems to go out for hours for no reason. We’re frequently the only red area on an Entergy outage map for the entire city. I’ve lost two freezers and fridges worth of food to these random outages.

Tonight they keep trying to fix it and every time they flip it back on, it sounds like another transformer blows down the road. Guess all the lack of maintenance has finally caught up to them.

Any other Oak Hills baws here dealing with this?

It’s wild to me that people accept they need to shut off power when the wind blows to keep the lines from sparking and starting fires. How fricking TERRIBLE is your infrastructure that the lines spark when the wind blows? Seems like they should take care of that.

I've been in my home for 17 years and we've never once had a power failure. Of course, I live in Texas and our electrical grid is underground with transformer pads here and there. No lines or ugly power poles to get whipped around in the wind or have tree limbs falling across the lines.

I live in Oak Hills and rarely have power outages other than the usual major storm incidents.

Lived in Lakeside for years. Underground utilities, but serviced by a very tenuous overhead line running down Highland Road, trees hanging over most of it and subject to being taken out every time some drunk or dumbass driver takes out a pole with their vehicle. I tried getting our HOA to take Entergy’s failure to perform to the PSC, to not avail, most just got whole house generators. At one time, I had quite a collection of screen shots showing our area being the only area in EBR without power. I called and wrote Entergy several times and can assure you, zero fricks are given

I hated entergy when I lived in BR. I have them now in South Louisiana and they are really good.

About two months ago, Entergy was having power dips and surges. It ended up frying my AC compressor. They came out and installed a voltage logger. They called and said that they were at fault for my compressor, and cut me a check for the 1000.00 to replace it.
