Well guys i'm gonna probably get hammered for this but had to get it off my chest. I know these are not good for you and i will probably give them up after this episode of my stupidity. Well i buy 4 drinks various ones red bull, monster whatever for a week when at grocery store. I Dont drink coffee and sit at a desk all day in front of computer for like 9 hours 5 days a week at home for last 4 months. So every every morning to get me going i drink 1.
Here's where it gets bad. I have a son that is 11 that is currently doing school from home as well. He sees me drinking them so i usually save about 10- 15% of my drink and let him finish it. He wants to be like dad and he likes the taste. Recently my son started breaking out in hives and what seemed to be some type of reaction scared the crap out of us so we toke him to the emergency room and didnt know what caused it. He seemed to be better and we thought everything was good until my dumb butt gave him the final drink of my energy drink over the last 2 days. Well guess what? the hives and reaction are starting to come back and the wife just found out i have been giving him a small percentage of my drink and she is pissed. I believe i may have been the cause of this without even knowing it. It could have been a certain drink one and i think i have isolated the one because just started drinking it like 2 weeks ago. She never told the dr.s because she didnt know till this morning i was giving him last taste. Just putting this out there that i am a moron and dont give your kids any of this crap. Let the downvotes begin for being a stupid parent.

He could just be allergic to your backwash.

Make your kid some coffee milk and keep him away from energy drinks. Too much extra crap in them. Coffee is harmless for kids outside of caffeine making them climb the walls

Your kid must be a little wuss if he can’t handle energy drinks
My ol man would always share his 4lokos when I was toting his rod bucket down the pipeline. He’s gone now (heart attack) but I always make sure braxtyn has got his energy up when he goes to the plate so he can swing that Marruci for the fences

My dad used to give me the last sip of his beers as a child, so I think you're doing OK.

Dammit forgot to include no pics. With the angry look i'm getting right now probably for the best
I did slide him the last sip of a beer once and got hammered for that one as well.

Look at the ingredients on the can of energy drink. Figure out which of those ingredients are in other foods and drinks he consumes without any reaction. Use process of elimination to try to figure out what's causing the allergic reaction.
You need to figure out what's causing the negative reaction because if its that bad from a couple of sips, imagine how much worse of a reaction he'd have if he drank a whole can of something that had that ingredient.

I drink one, if not two a day during the week. Usually a sugar free Rockstar or sugar free Monster. I'm healthy. Never had any health issues with them. To me, its no different than drinking a diet soda...

Does your kid like the taste of beer also?

That was my thought process as well but seems like the issue has popped up with this new Rockstar i tried about 2 weeks ago. I'm not saying this is it but the redbull never bothered him.

I guess if there are pre existing conditions, they can be bad for you, not that they are "good" for you, otherwise. And granted I don't pound one and go run five miles, but I usually have one in the morning, and on days that I'm dragging arse in the afternoon, I'll have another. Sure, coffee would be healthier for me, but I cant drink black coffee, and I don't care for the taste of it with artificial sweeteners. I only like my coffee with three or four spoons of sugar and I can't drink coffee in the hotter months of the year.
That being said, you're lucky its just a rash or hives hes broken out in. If he had an underlying heart condition, it could have been a lot worse.

Redbull is the tamest out there....doesnt have the extra herbal crap and caffeine content is lower.
BUT, you don't need to introduce whats actually a problem with kids slamming the shite.
Teh coffee/milk idea isnt bad.
