I bet you they could have a BLM parade and ball whenever they wanted

I don't think an argument could be made to the contrary.

I don’t know if you were always a fool or became one. It will most certainly destroy many lives, businesses, traditions, etc that counted on the festival season to make their nut.

If it comes back, it won’t be the same. It will be some neutered, sanitized, over-regulated bureaucrat laden shell of what it once was.

Has it ruined Mardi Gras before when they didn't parade?

I can't believe we're seeing the American Spirit crushed like this. People are openly embracing and calling for authoritarian rule.

So, now we wait to see what happens with the Debutant balls for the black community. If those young women don't get presented to local society, whatever will they do?

I never thought in a million years that we'd see events postponed to 2022.

This really fricking sucks.

Maybe. Mardi Gras has survived Comus not parading, Katrina destroying the population base, neighborhood parades being moved, and people saying they would never return after the statues came down.

People are still gathering every weekend in bars across the city now. Brass bands are still playing inside. And I would imagine on this Fat Tuesday the streets will have walking groups doing what they have always done.

All membership dues and product orders paid to date will be held and applied to the 2022 parade.

Glad to see they care and will continue to hold your money while you might be unemployed or working less hours. It's not like the riders might need the money or anything.
