Sure many of the elite Nola blue bloods were left scratching their heads, like me, tonight. How does a Super Krewe have Grand Marshalls - New Orleans city CAO Gilbert Montano and new NOPD Superintendent Anne Kirkpatrick - without breaking ethics rules?

Easily the gifts and services are well north of 10 thousand, and I’m curious how this happens in such an esteemed city embraced by values.

Well the mayor flies first class and stays in luxury hotels on the taxpayer’s money.

Probably done so Endymion could keep its Mid City Route.

Endymion didn’t get to keep their route during COVID for free. The city still wants all the parades uptown eventually.

There’s a cost to doing business and Endymion is greasing the right hands. I don’t agree with it, but it’s all politics.

Endymion may not have done themselves any favors tonight. Parade was awesome, but huge delay-rumor was that some of the larger floats may have had a rough time making turns.

They usually have the route vetted weeks in advance. Surprising.

They can ride if they pay their own way. As far as I know Endymion doesn’t pay for those riders. It was a sticking point t one year for a singer they wanted to get for the ball. He was going to be grand Marshall but refused to pay his way for the float with his crew.

didn't really have any major delays. longest time we were stopped was before Lee circle and at the beginning because a float needed it's generator replaced

So are you filing a complaint with the Louisiana Board of Ethics?

It’s a matter of time before Endymion gets pushed to the Uptown route. The traffic was an absolute shite show throughout the city from around noon until well after 8pm. The crowd on the Uptown route was unreal today and then all of those people flooded the streets and added to the already packed roads. It was as bad as I’ve ever seen it.

We started doing Iris and Tucks years ago instead on Endymion because the crowds were more manageable.

Now, there are just as many or maybe even more people at Iris and Tucks than Endymion, with how Iris has let its membership explode to over 3,500.

Come on now. You are smarter than this.

This is business that has been done for a very long time.

The mayor is gonna get paid and a few favors are also asked for. The parade is left alone and allowed to do as it pleases in return

You think that the blue bloods of New Orleans actually care about Endymion?

How would they end at the Superdome if they moved uptown?

Plus those floats are too big for the Uptown route

You aren't suggesting that New Orleans is corrupt are you? Damn, that is a very unique take.
