Considering I'm Asian. Sure

You do realize there are patients alive today that lived through segregation.

Sorry. You’re a racist “asian”. Happy?

I’m sorry, those number are absurd. In the lowest category blacks are TEN TIMES more likely to get in than Asians.

Secondly, black patients want black doctors.
The best part about progressives is they love to tell us what minorities want.
Have you considered maybe a black person, like every other person, wants the most qualified person to treat their healthcare condition.
Closet racist

There are actual studies on this matter. There's some big words in there so be careful I don't want you to hurt yourself.

Yes they do

No there aren’t studies on this topic.
The topic is… would you want a less qualified doctor because they look like you?
Your study says this…
quote:
What it comes down to is that patients who see physicians of their own race or ethnicity are more likely to rate their physicians higher than patients who see physicians of a different race or ethnicity,” said the study’s corresponding author Junko Takeshita, MD, PhD, MSCE, an assistant professor of Dermatology and Epidemiology in the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania.
It doesn’t include competency in the study
Try again bud

The selectivity of the schools where people are accepted or rejected is important context here.

No he’s just racist. He thinks black doctors want to work in the ghetto just because they are black

I'm not the one making the assumption that a doctor is inferior based upon the color of their skin.

I didn’t either. The statistics I posted did.
You are trying to justify the idea of racial quotas and diversity by citing patient surveys that don’t ask anything about competency.
Why dont you just ask patients point blank…. Do you want us to train less qualified doctors because they are black?
I know why. Because you won’t get the answer you want.

Even further, looking at the number of applicants and the matriculation data from 2013-14 (which was the first year the AAMC allowed for multiple responses on the self-identity questions, including other), I think the total number of applicants that were listed as white was 25,729, with 11,992 white students accepted and 11,426 white students enrolled. There were 3,865 black applicants, with 1,451 applicants accepted and 1396 applicants enrolled. That would give us a 37% acceptance rate and a 36% matriculation rate for black applicants. The acceptance rate for white students was 46.6% and the matriculation rate was 44%. The overall trend in medical schools from 1968 onwards seems to follow demographic trends, with the number of white matriculants falling below 80% the exact year that the overall number of white people in the US declined to under 80%. The decline has been closely linked, though it has been much more marked after 1995 for medical schools.
The photograph posted is straight from the AEI website, and I think I have to request that report from the AAMC itself. If I recall from the year before I applied, a person with a GPA between 3.4 and 3.6 and a MCAT between the 60th and 74th percentile had a 66% chance of getting into any single medical school regardless of race. That doesn't really explain the data posted by the AEI though.

So it sounds like you are admitting that schools are picking less qualified applicants because of their skin color.
Since you are just bypassing that debate and arguing why selecting people based on race is a good thing.
Is that right?

why is diversity of skin color or ethnicity a good thing?
The benefits of genetic variation are petty immense. This has been observed countless times in nature.
None of this to say that the AMA shouldnt be torn up root and stem for several decades of at best negligent behavior.
