It's really just an annoying cross-section of non-southern students. Jewish American Princesses (I saw one yelling at someone on a cell phone while a guy loaded her Benz w NJ plates into a moving truck), lots and lots of Asians who I'm sure are very nice but don't follow the rules of the road while walking much less driving, and just very lame people overall. I can see why the lack of anything fun and interesting would lead to pathetic microaggressed lives (+cause-effect cycle).
The grad programs are much more bearable but still seem to lack culture. I've spent some time researching etc at the law school and attended Candler. I just couldn't figure out why a beautiful prestigious school in a terrific neighborhood (subtle brag) blew so profoundly. I know it didn't used to be that way.

It's really like the worst, most uninteresting, most unwarrantedly narcissistic kids in America congregate at Emory. Few of which are from the South, all of which look down on the South while enjoying everything modern Atlanta/Decatur have to offer (more than whatever they left in NJ).
Take the most elitist, obnoxious person you know and combine them with a self-loathing, hand-wringing SJW, and you have the average Emory kid.

It's a particular type though. Nobody hates these kids because they're Jewish, you hate them because they're fricking awful at life. I'm guessing they're pretty despised by a lot of practicing Jews on the east side of town (a lot of old Jewish families).
