Elongated always struck me as a bit nouveau riche. I realize they've become pretty ubiquitous, but as a child I remember thinking that the people who had those toilets were the same people who owned Chryslers, smoked while driving us around for carpool, etc.

Yep. I’m 6’4” so comfort height becoming ubiquitous was a great welcome. We switched out every toilet in our house to comfort height.

Issue with elongated is that the poo doesn’t go in the water and leaves poo smears in the toilet more easily
