I saw a lot of people use them to commute in New York. Apparently they tape them up with electrical tape so that way they don't get banged up when getting locked up.
I also saw a lot of single wheel things. I liked those but feel like I would kill myself on it.

why not ride a normal bike? That's a 5 minute bike ride

ETA: nvm, saw your response to the same question earlier.

See my previous answer. While only 1.3 miles, it does have some hills and I'd rather not walk into the office sweating like Jim Halpert.

ETA: You got it.

Our garage currently has my gym, our van, my regular bike, lawn mower, and all our kids toys (among other things) in it. Not sure where I would put another full size bike, let alone one that weighs 40 lbs

So where you gonna put the scooter?

What is the price point of said scooter cause that translates to a lot of gas you'd have to save to break even.

Well the scooter would be foldable. That thing could fit in our foyer closet or even the corner of said garage. An e-bike could not.

Probably $600-$800. I guess breaking even on the case would take a while - but it would eventually happen. I'm not buying this thing to use it for a year and then drop it. I'm hoping it'll last me 4 or 5 years at least.

It's harder to put a number on it, but theoretically it would also reduce the maintenance cost of driving a car 2.6 miles through some traffic and 3 stop lights every day for the next 5-10 years.

I got my son this one for Christmas. It's been awesome so far. I got this one because his favorite color is red. But it'll go 25 miles on a single charge at 30 mph. It Has a weight rating of 220 lbs. But the best part is all the cool lights it has in the front, back and underneath.

My friends and I use the rental scooters all the time, we love them. We'll hop around the breweries and bars on a saturday using them.
