Yea when I turn on disposal, above sink light dims pretty bad. Did not use to do dat.
Only thing on the circuit is the light and disposal. Disposal is 6 yrs old
I have changed the breaker, still dims. The disposal is plugged into a receptacle below sink.
Is disposal resistance greater cause its 6 yrs old ? any other fix ?

Throw a fork in the disposal, turn it on, then tell us what happens

You need to pour two cups of sugar in your toilet.

Disposal motor is prolly going out and is pulling more amps to get up to speed.
Run it to failure and then change it out.
You can find good ones for $100-ish online.

Ah, that's why your light is dimming. Should've used a Guy Fieri knife

So just to recap, you think an $80 Emeril knife is a fork?

Most disposals have a place at the bottom of the shaft that you can insert an allen key to rotate it. Do that .. if there is any binding while you try to rotate it .. then there is either something stuck in it or a bad bearing.
If something is stuck .. use the allen key to rotate it forward and backward .. alternate until the item dislodges.
If it is a bearing .. just replace the disposal.

Change your ball bearings. It's all about ball bearings nowadays.
