You want to own something that can kill someone? Fine, but you're going to have to prove annually that you're mentally stable enough to continue to own one.
And who will administer this test? Who will pay for the administration of said test? Guess all of the non gun owner will have to be taxed to afford this policy.
quote:
Anyone convicted of a violent crime gives the court the power to take away their guns. cant own a gun for x amount of years, etc. All depends on the type of violent crime, of course.
This is already in place, felons cannot legally own guns.

You'll also have to prove that your shitty kids with no licensing cant get to your guns (proof of a gun case with locks, safe, etc)
Sounds like a tax on poor people who cannot afford a gun and a safe. If having an ID to vote infringes on poor folks rights to vote then forcing them to buy a safe is very similar?

This is just a rough draft stuff of the top of my head that can be done, and I am open to amending certain aspects of everything I just said if it will just fricking minimize all of this senseless killing.
How would anything you proposed have stopped what happened today?

Show me where I've said I get fricked up regularly on meth and heroin?
You wanna see pics of my arms for track marks?

C’mon man? You serious? Thanks for that breaking news. I had no idea
Then why suggest a measure that is already in place and practiced universally in our country? Also

just like you have to take a hunter safety course to get a hunting license
This is not true. It’s funny (and pitifully obvious) when people start to debate and try to control things they have no knowledge of.

How about you come up with a viable solution instead of expecting because of the right to bear arms?
Why can’t you answer a couple of easy questions?

It’s obvious everyone shouldn’t have that right but you offer no solution. Just a defense of “everyone’s rights”.

What mental disorders should be on the “no gun” list?
Mental disorder is a spectrum and affects everyone differently. Just because someone is depressed doesn’t mean they’re going to shoot up a mall. Same with schizophrenia, etc.
who decides if the person is well enough?
What is the route to appeal?
How long does said ban last?
Would punishing people for seeking treatment for mental health issues have a detrimental effect on having people seek out help?
Will there be an inherent bias amongst those who have the power to place a ban?

So give everyone in this country the right to bear arms is the answer?
That’s what the constitution gave us. It works. In a country the size of the US there will be a few instances like this every year. You don’t take away the rights of 340 million citizens because of the actions of 4 or 5 people a year

Mother fricker I buy 2-3 guns a year. I know how the process works. Don’t chastise me.
My point was the background check process should be more thorough
Jesus Christ you people can’t comprehend

That manifesto and that dude's three-friend Facebook profile positively reek of the CIA.
If that manifesto reflects his beliefs, how does what he did advance his agenda? By disarming us and inspiring people to vote for Hispano-friendly candidates for office?
Who has three Facebook friends?

Gun owners can pay more of a tax too. I'm sure everyone would be ok with paying a few more dollars a year if it saves lives.

there are still levels of assault that arent felonious.

And I don't give two fricks, if you're too broke to afford a safe or lockable gun case don't own a gun.

Guns, like grenades, are designed for the intent purpose of causing death.
I’m not a gun, but it’s dumb to make this comparison. Guns and Grenades (basically bombs) are very different. To simplify them as “things that cause death” is careless.

Felons have been prohibited from gun ownership since 1968. Some of you really should know what laws are on the books before pushing for a restriction passed 51 years ago.
