Anyone know of an Engineer In Training in-person class in Baton Rouge? I tried Testmasters, but they do not offer an in-person one in BR. Thanks for the help in advance. Electrical BTW

Just study the shite out of your engineering Econ and you will be good...

Yes, I have been out of school for a while and just need a refresher. I'll check with LSU, thank you to those with a helpful reply.
FYI - Testmasters does offer EIT courses and not just PE courses.

Ordering a book off Amazon isnt an option or do you actually need to be in a classroom?

You can find classes on DVD. I used this method for PE exam. Came with good study/reference material for the exam.
You can probably find cheap used ones on eBay along with the pre approved calculators.

I think there are study books, formula books, and practice test books online. The formula thing is a pdf and is like 4000 pages. Get it from the FE website. The other two can be bought on amazon.

The test is a joke. On the computer and you can search for formulas using Ctrl+f while taking the test.
I passed without ever touching a study guide.

Swing and a miss, monkeydick. It's the fact that nerdy arrogant turds, such as yourself, seemed to think so highly of yourselves. Only thing is, Corporate Officer is a title you'll never even sniff......provided you work for a firm worth a shite.

Chuck chuck chuck, you fail a few tests and bam 20 years later you are sitting in your office looking out at the 4 or 5 underlings you have working for you in your little satilite office. Let me get you a participation award.

Now, I can't tell you that, but I will say it's an ENR Top 500 firm. As far as money, I'm far enough in six figures to cast a long shadow on this asshat.
I wouldn't have attacked him had he not been a prick towards the kid asking questions.

Kaplan study guide is all I needed to pass. Have you taken it previously? I know a guy that took a class in BR after working for a few years, but I don't recall where it was. Just know they were available 7 years ago.
I had read through the study book a bit, but ultimately got bored with it. What helped was the practice tests. I took 2 or 3 practice tests just to get a feel for the time I had for each question. First one I finished just in time. By the second and third, I had tons of extra time. I finished both sections of the exam with an hour to spare (I took general in the afternoon even though I'm an ME). Passed the first time. It's mostly about time management on the questions. I had friends who had similar grades who had 15 questions they had to answer "C" on. You obviously have to know the material, but knowing how to take the test and how to use the formulas is key. For example, if they had a differential equation that was tough, you could plug in the multiple choice answers instead of solving for them and you could tell if that choice was right or wrong.
I'd also suggest taking general in the afternoon. Yes, you spent years in your specific discipline, but you already have to study for the general section, why force yourself to study for the degree specific as well. Just focus more on the general. Nobody ever sees the difference.

I'm a civil, and I don't remember how different the FE is for different disciplines.
Having said that, all I did was look through the formula book for an hour the night before the test. Not sure how well I did, but it was enough to pass. My thought process is that everything on the FE is straightforward. No tricks or anything like what they do on the PE. I thought of it more as a time management test. Everything you need to solve every problem is in the formula book.
For example, there was one diff eq problem that asked you to do a Laplace transform. The formula book only gave one example for a Laplace transform, but it was the exact one the problem asked for, verbatim. They cal this test fundamentals for a reason IMO. But I also took it in my junior year, so take all this with a grain of salt. Good luck.

Go to coursera.com and search about FE review. There's a Georgia Tech course with a British professor who walks you through a short review of everything on the test. It mentions something about paying but you only have to pay if you wanted to get credit at GT for the class, so just ignore that.
