There was no need to evacuate 6 million people. There are plenty of flood maps and data that show what areas would flood with the major rainfall that was predicted.

Evacuate those what you can from those areas before the rains start. Now when 50 inches does come down you are only left rescuing the second tier group. You are not fighting trying to saving thousands of drowning people.

Now you are just moving people to higher ground that are not in life or death conditions. You can not wait until 50 inches come down to start moving people but you do not have to move 6 million before the first drop either.

Are you fricking kidding me? The response and organization from the city of Houston has been outstanding. I haven't heard one person with any semblance of an IQ say anything differently.

Should have watched the national news then

I watched the local news. You know, because that's what matters. There isn't anyone bitching about the way the government officials handled this storm except for your dumbass self.

I agree with you. New Orleans was like the Wild West when Katrina hit.

In Houston I'm amazed at how much ordinary citizens are pitching in to help and how smoothly (as smooth as can be given the circumstances) everything has gone.

Because the ordinary citizens in NOLA were mainly thugs and criminals. They all wanted to loot and steal things in NOLA while in Houston they actually care about people

Whhhaattt??!??? I can't believe they didn't hit in like December or June. Wow. You know what? We should call this something like the season of hurricane. Or maybe hurricane season

, that was the point of my post. There will be another strong storm one day that hits on/near the anniversary of Katrina/Andrew/Harvey/Gustav, and people will discuss the eerie similarities of said storm.

What really sucks is alot of those new orleans thugs are prob going to be heading back to nola now that houston is flooded. That's what sucks. I'm sorry for them and their situation but we don't need that crime coming back...it's bad enough as it is.

How do you prepare for a levee breach

And besides, Biloxi took brunt of Katrina and not NO

New Orleans officials seemingly didn't have a plan at all with what to do with people. It was just chaos the whole time.

How can a city with millions of people prepare for trillions of gallons of flooding like Houston had?

Yet it seems so much more organized. There are numerous shelters and an abundance of supplies. Regular people are pitching in like crazy getting supplies, volunteering, and rescuing people.

Private citizens working smoothly along with government during this storm has been a sight to see.

How this storm has been handled by Houston and how Katrina was handled by New Orleans has been a night and day difference.

Clown comparison bro

Much much much was learned from Katrina on all levels that have been implemented all over when it comes to disasters. From
sandy to BR floods to Harvey
