Changes on the 400 block of Royal Street in the Quarter:
"The bronze statue of Edward Douglass White Jr., until recently the only Louisianan ever to serve on the U.S. Supreme Court but one who fought for the Confederacy and upheld racial segregation laws, disappeared Wednesday from its pedestal on the steps of the state Supreme Court building in New Orleans.
"Workers are moving the larger-than-life statue inside the French Quarter building, to a new location near the state Supreme Court's museum..."

Good.
Next step ought to be changing E.D. White high school in Thibodaux. Probably won’t happen though.

Let’s remove all the Martin Luther king statues he cheated on his wife so he was a terrible guy.

If he would’ve only had dreadlocks, this wouldn’t be happening.

Folks can now walk by that building and no longer fear statutory rape.

Have no fear. They will get to him in time. The Great Reset will leave no icons behind. You have never even heard of the people who will replace them.

Well, sort of. It's under the State's control, ultimately. From the link in the OP:
"In August, most of the City Council asked the Louisiana Supreme Court to remove the statue, calling its prominent placement in front of the state's highest court an affront to the idea of equality before the law. The statue is state property but is under the control of the clerk of the state Supreme Court."

can the legislature overturn this decision?

Good. Time to replace this BIGOT with a Leslie Jones statue.

Good why is it only white peoples statues.

This is odd.
Justice John Weimer is supposed to be taking over as Chief Justice of the Louisiana Supreme Court next month.
Ironically, he is an ED White Catholic graduate and native of Thibodaux.
Hopefully, he hasn’t gone all SJW. Justice Weimer has always been a straight shooter and known to tell a few jokes.
