Wait until the kids order multiple XBOXs and they magically show up at your door.

In the past year I have completely automated my house with Amazon's Echo. It's incredible what you can do with it.

Far too many things to list but here are some of my favorites:

Turn on lights; program lights
Turn on cameras; program cameras
Lock/unlock doors
Open/close garage door(s)
Set and monitor room temps
Turn on/off TV; select viewings
Set reminders, timers and lists; order stuff from online
Play music
Play news updates
Place calls

Of course, these and thousands of other actions can be done from anywhere in the world using your smart phone.

It is amazing that people are willing to give corporations and government the ability to listen to them 24/7 just so they don't have to hit a couple of buttons on their remote or get off the couch to flip a light switch.

But why???

Convenience just gives the Cylons access to make you their slave. #Team Adama.

I’m not paranoid about it. I know how to keep hackers out.

It’s far more than a convenience, I think. Security is far more important than convenience. Availability of information via the internet is incredibly useful, too. Of course, convenience is nice.

It’s artificial intelligence and it’ll only get smarter. We’re living in the future and this is what it’s like.
