No problem. It sure doesn't look good. The EBRSO & BRPD seems to have a death in the line of duty at least every other year. They just can't catch a break.

There’s a substation at PPH and 964. Heard the vehicle has K9 markings.

Heart attack while driving? Man, that is really sad.

PPH is a terrible road. I live about a mile down the road from where this happened. Two worst roads in Zachary are PPH and MacHost. Hate to see something like this. RIP.

Was the K9 with him at the time?

Yes. Only minor injuries.

MacHost is terrible

Was it a Ford Explorer? Many departments complained of exhaust fumes and I think there was a video of an officer losing consciousness while driving due to the exhaust fumes.

I work out here and drive this road a ton.
1. People, including cops and bus drivers, fly down this road. I’m talking 50-60 mph. It’s insane
2. The same mofo’s skirt the middle lines around blind curves
3. Oversize trailers are always using this rd
4. There is no shoulder, it’s winding all over the place, blind curves, deep ditches, and trees
It is absolutely not a shocker seeing this.

From what I’ve been told, there was another officer following. The vehicle just veered off the road and crashed. There was at least one other witness that said the same. A first responder friend said he didn’t have any obvious serious looking injuries. All hearsay, but perhaps the autopsy will reveal the truth.
