Wasn't she within the time period that potential symptoms of Ebola could still arise when she arrived in the US?

She may have taken all the necessary steps to ensure she didn't catch Ebola in Africa, but every nursing program stresses the need for precautionary measures, so certainly I think she could understand the desire for the state of New Jersey to make sure she was fine before letting her go out into the public.

And she stresses in that article that Christie did it out of spreading political fear, yet Eric Duncan had just died in Dallas from Ebola. If she had gone through the airport with no problem and told someone that she was just in West Africa, that person would be freaked out.

You seem oddly thrilled with that result.

The modern American prefer to have the state make decisions for them and give them free cell phones and such. Why is this a shocking statement? Some governor illegally confines a person based on ZERO evidence violates her civil rights and she is a bitch. See how that works.

I sure hope not. That will just continue the erosion of freedoms in this country. If she tested negative for ebola I see no reason she should have been imprisoned (quarantined.) It's not like ebola is an airborne disease, there are reasons these outbreaks do not happen in the first world.

The guaranteed safety and wellness of thousands, maybe millions, is far more important than her individual civil rights.

Glad to see you are also against bans on guns and alcohol, not to mention fatty foods.

You can justify any trampling of personal and individual rights in the name of "Public safety".

You see how easy it is for the govt to take control? People support it. It is pretty scary actually

Good for her for standing up for her civil rights. They get trampled on too often with no repercussions

A mandatory quarantine for a person who is returning from a disease stricken area in which she was treating patients for a disease which has a long incubation period is a very reasonable requirement.

Her civil rights were NOT violated, IMO. And, the fact that she didn't contract the disease doesn't really address the fact that she violated the quarantine. She should be facing criminal charges, IMO.

Was that test conclusive given the incubation period?

This could get interesting if her attorneys ask for emails from Cristie and his staff. I wouldn't be shocked if are numerous people who told him she wasn't a real risk.
