Texas schools (mainly referring to DFW and Houston area) are top notch. Easy choice even though I love the Tampa area. Go there for work a lot...

East Texas is Carthage, Nac, Tyler, etc. Houston is Houston and Dallas is Dallas

Hands down Tampa/St. Pete.
Cost of living is cheaper and schools are better in Houston but in every other category Tampa wins hands down.
