Bro people who are opiate addicts will never stop until they are forced to, whether that is being priced out bc they have sold everything they have, or being locked up. It's just too powerful of a thing for them and making it easily accessible will only make them never stop.

Who said anything about quitting?
I don’t care if they quit or not. Just like I don’t care if an alcoholic quits. But the alcoholic isn’t robbing and killing people because alcohol is cheap and readily available. The same would happen if drugs were legal.
Also, opium was legal for much of this country’s history, and in fact for much of human history. Cocaine as well.
We’ve spent trillions fighting the drug war and the percentage of drug users has remained unchanged for 50 years.
