One had an AK47 rifle. The other had a pistol. Just listen to the audio of the shots. Most posters are reasonably concluding that the shots that sound like they came from a high caliber rifle, the first five, were from the AK47.

Not sure if this has been mentioned but I’m thinking the five shots from the dead guy were not at the driver of the car but at the engine of the car to stop it from moving. Driver responded accordingly and in self defense.

Listening to the audio a few times, I think the AK jammed after the fifth shot. If you listen closely just before the pistol shots you can distinctly hear a weapon being cleared.
It’s at the 26 second mark. The audio cuts out for a second, then there is a split second of silence followed by the sound of a weapon being cleared
