EADO is cool if you like sports and neighborhood beer drinking. You are walking distance from Minute Maid and Toyota Center. 8th Wonder Brewery is cool and the strip with Luckys and Woodrow’s has a lot of neighborhood locals. Most of this tho are middle aged men with a few beat of wives mixed in but most places are a big sausage fests.

If your looking to party and get laid, go to Midtown. A younger vibe with more energy. You deal with douchiness but also deal with a younger hotbed of tail. Not as laid back as EADO tho but more trendy and more restaurant options.

I’m leaning to Midtown. Just worried about the traffic/commute to Pasadena/Deer Park.

I’ve done some google map routes at peak times from Midtown to Shell/Valero. If google maps is correct it puts me at just under 30 mins. Just not sure how accurate google maps is.

I commute everyday from River Oaks/Montrose to Pasadena...the mornings are fine...30-35 minutes...there is God awful construction on the Beltway at 225 that is going to make life miserable in that area for 5 years or so. Getting home usually takes 45 to an hour.

It’s the fourth largest city in the country...you’re going to sit in traffic if you commute into/out of the loop.

If you worked out there and were coming back in, EADO would take about 20 minutes off your commute. You’d be going against traffic the whole way and once you reached the cluster around downtown or get inside of 610, there are plenty of back roads to take.

Midtown, you would have to fight that extra cluster of downtown where everyone is going multiple directions. Would add 20 minutes minimum.

Unless I’m leaving the office early...I take backroads almost exclusively back into the city...Lawndale to Navigation into downtown...hit Allen Parkway to Dunlavy and I’m back in my bubble.

What about going from Midtown to Pasadena between 4-5 PM?

I’ll be on shift work so my travels times will be like this:

Day shift:
Midtown to Pasadena at 4:15 AM
Pasadena to Midtown at 5:00 PM

Night shift:
Midtown to Pasadena at 4:15 PM
Pasadena to Midtown at 5:00 AM

Shell Deer Park is a shithole

That’s what Ben Van Beurden says...

The early morning hours should be no problem. The afternoon however is a different story. The witching hours for heavy afternoon traffic are between 4pm to 6pm

There is a ton of construction on that commute so I would go with east downtown. Sure it’s a little ghetto but it will be much easier to get from 225 then having to fighr 45 construction.

I use to work out there and lived in greenway. It was 25 to 30 in the morning. 45-hour back

There's alot of places in the Washington area(general area around Washington Ave where it runs parallel to Buffalo Bayou.) Gives you quick easy access to I-10, the Heights, Midtown, and all the fun areas. All it takes to get turned away from midtown is seeing it once in the daylight.

Midtown and Washington suck. Enjoy meeting the same type of person, over and over and over again.

Go to Clear Lake and buy a boat. It's fun, cheaper,on the water and closer to Pasadena.

24 years old-
Midtown is where you should live.

Eado is pretty cool as well but very slowly getting better. With the addition of pitch 25, truck yard, and rodeo goat, it’s getting pretty nice.

Washington- rice military is nice by kung fu.

Heights- stay close to white oak.

My friend commutes from midtown to deer park everyday. 30 mins to and from. 45 when there is traffic.

Montrose and upper Kirby are ok places but for a 24 year old, id stay in midtown.

Heights>Midtown~EADO. Essentially the same price point, but much more homey in my opinion. Feels safer than both and pretty much no homeless people compared to the places you listed.

Still less than a 10 minute uber from any of the festivities but has its own nightlife too. Has cool neighborhood parties you might like, including their own white linen night.
