Damn right. He's going to frick up the LAPD and DA over the grandstanding way they busted Durst, coinciding with the documentary to create buzz.

this whole story is turning into henry lee lucas and ottis toole all over again. sheriffs from all over the US are going to try and blame murders on him

He's going to prove that, once the dust settles, there is not a lot of admissible evidence.
They can't discuss other open cases in his trial.

I've been wondering if his story about his mother's death is true...wondering if maybe he pushed her...perhaps he saw his chance and took it. Correctly assuming that no one would blame a child...

the documentary was very vague about his mother's death? How'd she fall off roof and why did dad tell him to tell her bye?

How he skated on that shite in Galveston is beyond me and nothing short of a miracle.
and i cant even say it was his money/lawyer that did it... i mean his defense was "sure i shot him and cut him up, but there were only two of us in the room and you cant prove it wasnt self defense and a freakout that followed"

If it is LA he will probably walk as long as he can establish the celebrity defense.

It was 100% the DA/Prosecutor at fault. They were cocky and only charged him with Murder 1 and not the other charges like dismemberment, evading arrest, firearm charges, etc.
They bet the house on black and hit double zeros.

I've read very little about this dude but why is the doc called the Jinx?
He says during the doc that he argued alot with the wife about having children. She wanted them and he didnt. The interviewer asks him why and he says that they(kids) were a Jinx, when in reality it was Durst himself that was the Jinx on those close to him. Thats how I took it.

No, he said that he was the jinx. He said he knew he wouldn't be a good father.

It isn't. His brother, Douglas, wrote Jarecki and said that all of the siblings were together when their mother was on the roof. That when the father saw her up there, he removed them from the house. Apparently Bob has been telling this story his entire life and Doug said that it's b.s.

I thought most jurisdictions allow juries to find guilt based upon lesser included offenses, if proven at trial

They do. After being acquitted of murder in the Galveston case, Durst ended up pleading guilty as part of a plea deal to charges of evidence tampering and bond jumping. He was sentenced to five years with some credit for time served. Had to serve about three years after the trial. So, he knew he was dead to rights on the other charges and negotiated a plea on those. Prosecutors could have gone back and tried him for those offenses after the murder trial.
