I worked at a Krogers in high school when gas was $4. If you didn't have a card, you betcha I was putting those fuel points on mine. $1 off gas every time I filled up

At the time I was shopping there, none of our Kroger's had gas stations. A couple have them now.

That’s what is so very stupid.

Your identity and age was verified as accurate and now your age is not accurate and your identity is suspect because time ran out to do the activity the fee allowed?

It’s fricking bullshite.

Total communist bureaucratic logic stream.

Stop sounding like a nutter anti-masker

Expired identification brings into doubt the validity of the document. It could be a fake.

Yeah, no. Highly unlikely. It simply says your window of being legally licensed to drive in the state has expired and must be renewed so you can legally drive again. That's it. It could be a fake with it being current for that matter.

ETA: you've already gone through the screening process to prove that you are your ID says you are. That part of it hasn't mysteriously gone null and void just because you need to renew your driver's license.

That’s one of the stupidest things I’ve heard all day.

If I’m going to the trouble to get a fake document, it won’t be expired.

you called the need for an updated ID communistic, so there's that

back on topic. There is no need to get upset at clerks and cashiers for following the rules of employment that were given to them

It's not about fakes, it's about people selling their expired ones.

I believe more is better and wear three masks at a time.

An N95 covered by a Level II, and a cloth LSU one to be trendy.

So far, no CCP Flu.

Same with the bakers at Dachau. Crispy Jews weren’t their fault. Just following orders.

Yes, your identity is suspect if you try to use an expired document. Why is this so crazy?

Your identity is unchanged by a date. To say otherwise is retarded.

I think you are overthinking this... an expired ID is not a valid ID. Valid ID is required for alcohol purchases. Why would a business or individual open themselves up to liability by breaking the law?

Also, most places will still sell you if its expired within a week or two. The people you see getting denied at liquor stores are usually using one that's 6 months expired because the DMV won't let them renew for a predetermined time

This is such a response that you would get from a kid who is asked why he's doing it and he shrugs and says "I dunno, because my boss said to do it..."

I mean, yeah. Listening to your employer is generally a condition to being gainfully employed

Proof of age is the determinate that makes rational sense. Not a fee renewal date that has passed. That’s irrelevant to proof of how old you are.

A 17 year old with a valid driver’s license won’t be sold the alcohol. It’s proof of age that’s important.
