Total dumb arse move. Dude probably paid $50 more. I don't have one of the new cards because I don't shop there often but I always ask the cashier to swipe hers for me. They always do.

I used to shop at Kroger's alot. I never did get a card because the same cashier was usually there and she always just automatically swiped her card. I never declined her offer.

I see nothing wrong with keeping a mask to put on when you walk inside a place of business, and then take it off out in the parking lot walking to your car.

I was all anti-mask too, at one time. Then I got a positive Covid-19 test, with no symptoms (other than lost my sense of smell). I took the test on a whim, because the doctor asked if I wanted to take it. I was like, "yeah sure why not". Had no symptoms. No flu, no body aches, no fever, no throwing up, no breathing issues. NOTHING. I had all that in March, which right now I'm convinced was it. But at the time, the doctor told me it was a cold and not to worry about it. Anyway, after I got the positive test result I started looking into it (because I was fricking shocked that I had it), and that is the case for over 50% of people out there - that they are asymptomatic and simply carry it and can possibly spread it. So, no telling who out there would test positive for it right now and has no idea.

THAT is why you should wear a mask. Unless you know you've had it and recovered from it, and have no shot at passing it because you already had it. I wear one anyway. Just in case there's a chance I could get it again.

One time I was with a group of people going into a casino. The dude checking IDs let everyone I was with go without checking their ID then stopped me to check mine. It was expired by like 2 weeks. That's on me, I should have not put it off, but it doesn't change the fact I was well over 21.

He told me he couldn't let me in. I asked him if my license being expired was a big deal then why didn't he check everyone he just waved through to see if their license was expired. He was like "Sir I can't let you in". I told him he was being a bitch, he told me something back and by that time one of the floor managers come over and the group I was with sort of made their way back to where I was.

The floor manager asked him what was the problem, he told him my license was expired and by that time I was explaining to the people I was with what was going on and then the floor manager told me I could go in. When we were leaving the dude who wouldn't let me in saw me making my way to leave and he just stared at me like he was trying to intimidate me, When I got by him I told him "Thank your boy for overruling you and letting me in. We had a great time!". He really had a look on his face like he wanted to punch the frick out of me.. I think it pissed me off when I called him a bitch then the floor manager came over then let me in.

But the sign says what? "You must be 21 or over to enter". So how does an expired license not validate someone's age?

Yeah, this didn’t happen.

An expired ID can't be used to purchase alchohol since this would promote an illegal aftermarket for old IDs. So for instance, if an ID expires but could still be used to purchase alcohol, its owner may be tempted to sell it to an underage person who could pass as them.

Just googled it and got this response.

This is probably the dumbest thing I have seen all day. So if someone sells to someone with an expired license (which still shows their age), it is illegal because the person selling it may be tempted to sell to underaged people who could pass for them?

So what if someone underage uses someone else's license that is not expired, in which they could pass for. So is it illegal to let someone buy alcohol with an expired license in order to motivate that person to pay to renew their license ASAP?

To all the people saying “that’s the law”. So you never speed even 1 mile over the speed limit? Is It only the law when you decide. Hypocrites.
Are you putting yourself in the running for dumbest thing we've seen today?

If I choose to go 1mph over the limit, that's on me. But I'm not going to get mad at someone else for NOT going over the limit. And I'm damn sure not going to get mad at someone for not putting their liquor license on the line by breaking the law.

I have no problem with people wearing masks, properly.
I'd wager that 5% of people wear them properly.

And yes I know how to wear them. And yes I've been trained how to wear them and take them off. Properly. I've worked around acute threats to health and life if I fail to wear them correctly.

It’s ok. I’ll get pissed off for you.

Speed limits are suggestions. Idiots that don’t know this should have to walk everywhere.

Hahaha

Nope. They are limits. The only reason that tickets are not given for just over is because of the error factor in radar

Right. What's expired is the window in which the state says you're licensed to drive. The ID itself is not bad, just that aspect of it is, when expired.

Let me rephrase. I get frustrated, but I can't blame them for obeying the law.

You know, the sign does only say "speed limit". It doesn't say whether it's an upper or lower limit.

I was not aware it was the law when the situation I explained happened, but I would have had the same reaction simply because they don't ID everyone. If it was that important, they would ID everyone and should include on their signs "You will not be able to enter with an expired license".

I am just thinking about this, but if someone can prove they are of age in some way other than their license are they allowed to sell to that person?

I worked at a Krogers in high school when gas was $4. If you didn't have a card, you betcha I was putting those fuel points on mine. $1 off gas every time I filled up

Passport, Twix card, military id and grey hairs should be enough.

God damn clerks are fricking idiots when gramaw can’t buy sherry to cook with if she forgot to renew her driver’s lisence.

USA & Russia are on the same communist railroad tracks moving in different directions.

USA toward totalitarianism Russia towards more freedom.
