When I read all the info on this case I see nowhere where it says the "national transplant list" (whatever this is and who governs it) requires a COVID vaxx. In fact it is the Duke University that is calling it a "recommendation" but refuses the transplant without the COVID vaxx.
Apparently with the $25K raised she now has options and this governing board for the "national transplant list" apparently does not require the COVID vaxx. If they did require the vaxx, she would have no other options.

She could have went to the Liberty University Anti-Mandate Hospital and been told the same thing. This "recommendation" is a requirement to be put on the transplant list in the reddest or bluest area.

The 25k was for extra expenses required to travel to a different hospital for the procedure, not to pay for the procedure in cash.

For a happy healthy 14 year old I completely agree. Any Dr, Nurse, or anyone who has gone through personally or with a family member will tell you that is not the case when you are talking about someone getting a transplant, especially if she is in renal failure and this singular kidney will have to do the work of two. This isn't political or an attempt for government overreach. This is the Drs, Hospital, and Transplant groups doing what is 100% best for the patient. Anything you can do to prevent a disease, infection, or help the immune system must be done.

Holy hell, you’re so smug and comfortable in your ignorance to the point it’s blinded you to the most important fact. And that fact is the vaccine isn’t keeping people from catching, spreading, or dying from the fricking virus.
The only thing that matters when it comes to a vaccine is (1) does it work and (2) is it safe. Number one has already been proven false and there is a good deal of evident to suggest number two is likewise false.

Thank you. There was some pop-up and ESET security screen when I tried to open the story, and the portrayal from the commenter I was replying to was that the 25k was for the transplant itself. I have a fairly recent experience with this, and can say $25k after insurance and assistance, and blood drives, doesn't quite cover it if you have good insurance and no issues. Any complications and that number will spike quickly.
