Way easier to park a truck by backing in.
Also safer when exiting your parking space.

Do you not realize it’s easier to back a truck in, than it is to pull in forward? You must drive a Prius.

Read an interesting article on backing into parking spaces. In Asian countries, something like 90% of drivers back in. Reasoning they indicated for it being odd in America is delayed gratification. Since driving in reverse is more difficult, backing in delays the easy part of the parking process until later.
Since I drive a truck, I always back in. Do it when I drive my wife's SUV also. Safer and I can delay my gratification...

Truck turning radiuses are such that they are better in reverse. It’s also safer to pull forward from a parking spot than to back out of one. Lots of companies have gone to back in only parking in their lots.
Turning radius is the same in forward or reverse, but the center of the turning arc is closer to the rear of the truck. This is what makes backing in easier for those adept at it.

It would be fine if people who back up, cars or trucks would actually fill the parking spot properly. I had a man upset because I have to pull close to his car because he didn't pull all the way up in the spot. So when he tried to load his truck he was upset that I was so close. If I didn't pull up in my spot my truck would hang over into drive ways lanes and possible get hit. Park how you want, but park properly. Don't get upset if you trunk is close to the vehicle behind you bc we gotta park property too.

I was told some plants require you to park like this. Any truth to that

If it makes you feel better, I back all the way down my 300+ ft driveway every afternoon. There's logic to this too. One, I find it easier and faster than doing a multiple point turn around. Two, when I leave in the morning, it's dark, and being able to drive straight out rather than back out in the dark is much easier. Sorry you suck.

Op is trashy
What kind of man judges people for good parking etiquette
Backing in is considered safer and everyone should do it.
At Shell facilities you’re actually forced to back in for the safety aspect.

When did backing into a parking spot become tough or manly??
Posted on 5/3/19 at 8:33 am to BoneDrownedDave
OP is definitely a snowflake liberal.

Serious questions:
why do plant operators gravitate to 250-2500 series trucks?
Is it to carry materials to work?
Is it to tow your giant speed boat/camper?
Is it is get ground clearance for huge nuts?
Why would a 150-1500 series not suffice (Raptor excluded)?

Think it's kind of dumb in the first place, especially if buying stuff that needs to be stored in the bed of the truck.

I valeted when I was younger, and we had to back in the spot. Odd for me not to at this point.... especially with the cam in back. Actually find it more difficult not to at this point.
