Linda Lavander girl passed away and guessing that’s who you’re talking about.

I think Linda's daughter is Linda Lou Ford Boreland. The girl that died was a dancer at Linda Lavenders school.

The little girl that was my daughters friend had her cousin with her and was also killed.

I cannot imagine the intense pain the families are feeling. It hurts me and they're not my kids.

This could happen to any of our children.

Yes. I see it just about every day. And I hate the people at red lights who are texting when it turns green and they shite there and when you blow the horn they get mad.

My B-I-L was killed by a DD back in the 90’s… The POS that did it just got out of jail.. They lived in Texas at the time, and the DA was in constant contact with my sister every time he came up for parole. She made sure he spent his entire term in jail, which he did…

Their son was 5 at the time, he became a Navy air framer and is now working for Boeing at Michaud on the Mars project, doing pretty good for himself.

Not having a license does zero to stop someone from driving.

So, do nothing? I think you absolutely should take their license.

I’m all for harsher penalties but only for the real drunk drivers. The ridiculously low limits are absurd. I will never support destroying someone’s life bc they had a couple beers and aren’t drunk.

Even the founder of MADD left the organization bc it became too much about prohibition than it was targeting the drunk drivers who kill people.

Absolutely take it, but needs to be more.

That’s what I meant, a Linda lavender dancer.

Very upsetting. The driver of the girls vehicle sounds somewhat at fault. Having them double buckled

It's not just intersections. I pass at least one person a day on the interstate that was swerving at least a bit. You get next to them and can see they are on their phone doing something.

If you change the law to be harsher, then states lose the revenue.

Yep. Happened on one of ours. Guy crossed the median on a hill, I was able to swerve and miss the head on, but he sideswiped me. I went off the road into a nearby tree head on. He flipped and rolled. Crawled out his sunroof and was able to walk away into the night. Didn't turn himself in for 4 days.

You're lucky. We recently had a young lady on my end of the parish who was hit and killed by a drunk driver who turned himself in a few days later...after he sobered up. This has become commonplace.

As usual, you always contribute worthy commentary. I drive quite a bit in my profession. I can tell you unequivocally that cell phones are damn near worse than drunk drivers. It used to be when you saw someone swerving on the road it was a probable drunk. Now it’s damn near every third car. Lane encroachment is common everywhere. It worries the hell out of me for my children. I’m always on alert now!

Stop going after people for bullshite (lawn mowers, sleeping in parking lots instead of driving, borderline cases caught only because technicalities) and have the second DUI be an automatic felony.
