Strange. Their Facebook page posted 10 hours ago they were looking for Fry & Sautee Cooks ($12 per hour). Hours are 11am to 10 pm on Tuesdays.

Most of you weren’t customers to begin with so cut it out with alienation bullshite

I’m not threatened by black folks or the BLM movement so I have no issue with this. How many of you were cheering for Smokie, vowing to patronize his business when he had the China flu sign in his window? Let’s be honest here, it’s not about the statement, it’s about black folks.

What was the statement?

I never knew it was black owned until Gravy posted about spending money at black restaurants a few years ago. I just thought it sucked.

It turns out Bull Chicks right down the road is black owned too and I still go there for lunch sometimes. I don't care about the owner's race. If they start serving me a burger or a chicken wrap with a card about my white privilege or a side of BLM I'll go elsewhere

But when you decide to alienate your paying customer base, actions have consequences. This is one business owner I don’t feel sorry for.

Cook a good product. And leave politics and agendas out of it.

For those of us not in BR, what did the owner do?

Is it just painting the parking lot?

There are some seriously DUMB business decisions but this one has to rank as one of the dumbest. As difficult as it is to operate a successful restaurant, and during Covid-19 no less, you’re going to pull this shite and alienate people from frequenting your restaurant?

YOU DESERVE to go out of business. Sorry, but you do. That’s stupid.

Nah, I’ll give any restaurant a second chance. The served me crawfish that had likely been boiled several times that day the first time. Second trip we tried multiple things off the menu. The food was shite and the service was mind blowing awful both times. Everything you touched was sticky, they had a guy painting walls around tables with customers eating, and the bathroom looked like tiger stadium.

Color doesn’t matter when it comes to food in south Louisiana. If you don’t give a shite about your restaurant, why should I care about spending my money there?

they never last right there, but I can't really figure out why.

Calendar’s kicked arse there for decades. Boil & Roux isn’t killing it but they’ve been open for years.

Wasn't this location originally a Bennigan's (back in the day)?

It was something else before Boil & Roux and I wasn't terribly impressed with the food there. But the two times I went to Boil & Roux, the food sucked.

That's what it was. Calendar's. I was thinking Bennigan's.

It was a Calendars and then some Shreveport based restaurant for a few years. Both were better than this place.
