Louisiana has tons of unique and special. Is it really worth the bad infrastructure, schools, and healthcare?

Wait until you get a 12 month sentence. And about 3 4-6 monthers. Not to mention the other 10 or so few weeks stints.
I had to start finding hobbies. Like working and such.

My man. I don’t have enough upvotes to give you. I drove on I-20 from Dallas to Monroe yesterday and I was screaming at the top of my lungs at those frickers driving in the left lane for 30 miles straight.
I've driven the entirety of I-10 through TX 4 times and it was absolutely maddening for the whole 900 miles

You drove across the entire state in one day?
It's 913 miles from my door to New Mexico.
I know that because Texas sucks.

All you pansies who can't stand The Great Lone Star State don't have to come back, you know. I think we'll survive if you boycott us.

Because it excels in the things that effect you every day in life.
For individuals, its a booming economy with well paying jobs.
For families, its exceptional schools.
For the Young, countless retarded shite to do.
For the Old, can retire in a master planned community and not have to worry about shite. Or you can move out into the prarie and die without people bothering you.

Never been to Katy. I have asked several native Houstonians/Texans "Hey, where can I get some good (chinese, chicken fried steak, sushi, etc.)" and the usual response is a shrug or a chain restaurant. I know a guy who has lived in Houston his whole life and he drives an hour north to Conroe for street tacos because the X number of places he's tried in and around Houston don't match up to a hole in wall place called La Palma. It is likely the only hole in the wall place that serves good food that is slightly unique and has mom'n pop feel to it that I've been to.
I tried a place called Mel's country diner or something that supposedly had amazing chicken fried steak. Some of the blandest food I've ever had. Was literally ground meat battered in flour and fried with instant white gravy poured on top. Place was packed and most of the people in there got CFS. The best CFS I've had since I've lived here is at Longhorns. Maybe I caught them on a bad day but I won't go back to find out.
So in my experience I find this general area doesn't offer much other than what I previously stated. It is on my to-do list to go into the city and try various types of cuisine from the ethnic centers in the city. Until then, I stand by my experiences in the lack of quality food outside of Tex-Mex, BBQ, and steak. Which by all accounts are fine with me, just want some variety.

Again, I’m not trying to bash Texas because I live here and I like it, but...
Most people live in the triangle, which is a whole lot of nothing, geographically
Public schools, meh
For the young, a lot less to do than states like California, Florida, Colorado
The economy is why people move here, the rest of it is pretty unremarkable

But for the young, you have great employment opportunities which allows them to... wait for it... have the means to travel anywhere they desire. Then come home to live, work and play.

Meh? We have like 3 top 10 schools in North Dallas and I think another 2-3 in Houston.

Huh? There's concerts every weekend here in DFW. If you like bar hopping there Uptown in DFW and im sure inside the loop in Houston. Austin has its own bar crawl. Tons of Lakes to get into. Proper hunting grounds.
There's between Houston / Dallas a total of 8 Major Sports teams.
I am trying to understand exactly what you are looking for?

There’s a lot to Texas. Hard to lump it into one category
