If any of y'all are interested in figuring out your delay time, from about 1 mile up I65 on the west side of Mobile to the bottom of the tunnel is about one Kashmir on the radio on a normal off-season midweek day.

Regular Mobile doesn't have much traffic during the day. It is also smaller than I remember it from passing through as a kid.

edit to add: and the side ad when I wrote that was for a bed and breakfast in JACKSON, Mississippi

Is that some kind of "adventure" package or are people just crazy?

Hammond to Orlando yesterday. I was shocked at how smoothly it went. I’m sure it’ll be hell on the way back to even things out.

It always seems like the drive back isn't as bad as going so it might not be that bad. As long as you don't hit any traffic that helps a lot. I just remember being in traffic a lot.

If you have a wife and kids with you, the drive back is ALWAYS worse

If you're alone then its the best drive ever

I never had this experience but I can see it.. They are tired and ready to get home, but probably wants to stop more than you would like to, etc.

Add points for if you have all girls.

Even though we bring food etc. to save on cost, somehow we come back more heavily loaded down than when we got there. Fascinating

I haven't been to Destin in 15 years.

I wonder how much it's changed since then.

I’d say not all that much in the last 15 years but certainly a ton since the mid 90s, which is the first I can remember.

Or those who take trips to 30A despite living in a junky double wide. People seriously crack me up. But hey gotta post everything on social media so the world knows I’m at 30A!

For some odd reason I don’t see any posts of their “home”

Try driving from Baton Rouge to Slidell..

Correct. Worst stretch of interstate in America. I always take a I10 through NO to get to Slidell
