Driverless cars that work are cool, but using another company's work without their permission maybe isn't.
Researchers connected to Intel Labs figured out a way to modify GTAV's engine and algorithms to set up a simulation that would allow companies to track car data on the streets of Los Santos.

Rockstar sent us a statement today highlighting the other side to this. “We welcome discussions about the use of our technology to help further academic research, but it’s obviously not appropriate for corporations to take our work and use it for their own financial interests or for researchers to distribute unlicensed copies of our code as part of their work without first seeking our permission,”
Would you feel safe in a car that thinks it's in GTA?
But for real, crazy that this is where we are at with technology and the way it's progressed in the past 15 years.

Hillary Clinton wanted to shut that franchise down.

So the cars are picking up hookers, taking them to back alleys and screwing them, then throwing them out and running them over after?
I loved GTA3

This is a concern with teaching by watching us. If the computer assumes we do things correctly then it can learn bad habits when we don't. Exhibit A.

Considering some of the GTAV videos I've seen lately, this isn't a good thing.
I don't want to get on the interstate via jumping off a mountain and doing several 360s.

If they want to do research on how to repeatedly annoy other e-players minding their own business by killing them repeatedly then they should watch an online session of me playing GTA V online.

Everyone's okay after the car sticks the landing though, and the video proves it. You'll be fine.

I was driving through Manhattan with no gps. Went through the park. Knew if I took a right out of the park towards the east side I'd be by the hotel from Coming To America, I'd I took a right I'd drive through a building. A few more turns would take me to times square.
Fun drive, did it all from video games. GTA and one of the mafia games.
If you played them enough you could navigate Manhattan.
