This is my son's first Christmas where he actually understands what's going on. After the Santa presents we gave him the presents from us. Most were from both of us but we each gave him one that said it was just from Mom or just from Dad. The one I gave him was a toy toolbox since he's been interested and watches me all the time when I use my real tools to fix something around the house. Once he opened it he just yelled "Thank you Dad!" and ran to hug me. Not gonna lie it choked me up a little inside. I was childless until 35, for a long time I never knew if I would ever have them. These little moments are just really special and it's really just a feeling you can't describe unless you live it.

It's a special age. Kids really are the best things in life. I feel bad for my cousins around my age who don't have and may never have their own.
