Yeah, all it takes is one beer for my concentration to be shot.

Drinking on the job is a sign that the person doesn't really care about their work.

I leave my house every morning, get a drink out the drink fridge and always contemplate grabbing a beer or not.
My BIL is a cane farmer, he keeps an ice chest of white cans in the back the truck.

I care about my work, I just need a couple of drinks to steady my hands, after that I'm fine

Couple glasses of wine at lunch. Nothing at the office.
We always drank at the office when I was in oil and gas though

Probably for good reason, it seems to be less common now. The new trend is to arrive early, skip lunch and bail by 3. Really not much the company can do unless you're bombed at 5 and crash a company car. Which believe it or not one of our top managers still pulled off last year. Now everyone in my company takes the car allowance and says frick you to the crown Vic and F150. We had a huge unused fleet that was recently sold

Peej it doesn't really become an issue until you graduate to vodka and saki bombs. These are well established industry rules.
ETA and during Mardi Gras all rules are null and void.

would you want to be on a plane knowing the Pilot is a drunk????
Posted on 2/17/18 at 12:27 pm to dukke v
They fly themselves these days. I'd rather be on a Boeing with a drunk pilot than any Airbus with a sober pilot.
I'd rather be on either or both than the fricking Houston traffic I brave everyday with everyone on their phones. I honestly see a rear end because someone was distracted by their phone almost every single day.

You have to work first to graduate to drinking at work.

I know what you mean... I drive in BR everyday... They pay zero attention... I even pulled up next to a cop at a red light and he was texting away... Not a care in the world.........
