Gotta love our downtown revitalization. This is depressing.

alot of people dont like to hear this but it is fact that a certain skin color ruins areas faster than any other by bringing the hood culture.

And someone needs to put a good white person small music venue bar down there that attracts a young LSU crowd.

Tough to do considering the Roux House and Lava Cantina have recently closed their doors. The whole open container issue killed the vibe 3rd street had going for it anyways

Why won’t the cops arrest these fighting types before they go to the bars?

How do you propose the police arrest people before they've done anything?

this is exactly why we need a trolley type train from NBR to Downtown and LSU. This type of culture and class needs to be spread throughout all of Baton Rouge.

And THIS truly is why we can’t have nice things.

You mean when downtown bars used to be popular?

I miss the days of hanging out in the "Triangle" and bouncing back and forth between Roux, Lucys and Happys. All three were packed and a great time. RIP Downtown

Apparently Happy's has been raking it in.

I was there a couple weeks ago also and had a nice time. I hadn't been downtown in a while. I had no idea the Roux House had completely died and that Lava Cantina met the same fate. Happy's is a decent place where you can go and mingle with a decent crowd and not worry about a brawl. I'm mid 40's and didn't feel terribly out of place. The patio outside with the band is pretty cool.

Downtown had a lot of potential and was doing quite well for a while....but now the end of 3rd Street where Happy's is is the only place to go. If you venture to the other side of Florida, you are taking your life into your own hands. It has become a cesspool. And "culture" isn't the only culprit....is the City Bar still Guido central?

hopefully places like Bin 77 will continue to price culcha out of their places and it'll be safe for a civilized hangout

For sure, that whole block used to be a ton of fun and always had good crowds

What made downtown fun though was that you could walk to multiple places and get a different crowd in each. As much as I like Bin, you don't have anywhere else you can go without getting back in a vehicle.

The only spot left in town that you can walk to multiple different places is the Overpass area.

What does that guy keep yelling? I thought it was something to do with "weaves" but at the end, it sounds like he's talking about "weed."

Do you even River Room, Blend, Driftwood, and Bengal, bro?

That’s highly “taking your life into your own hands”. Not to mention Hueys and Bald Eagle are safe too. It’s only the club and the culcha it attracts that is ruining the vibe for everyone.

1913 and Shitty bar are the only real issues downtown on 3rd.

Baton Rouge needs a good gentrification from Middle and push up North.

It works, South St.Louis was on the ropes, and we got a shite load of Bosnians, who pushed the riff raff back North. Bosnians now populating South St.Louis County, near me, and values going back up. And their relatives keeping South St.Louis gentrified. Bosnians have been a big asset to St.Louis, in many ways. They all feel a part of the community.

It works, just have to get working class immigrants to come in.
