They definitely need a sports bar/restaurant. Schlitz n giggles has the closest feel to that, but the tv placement sucks. You can't see them if you are sitting downstairs along the wall. You'll end up with a crick in your neck if you sit at the bar for a whole game. And people are always walking right in front of you if you sit in the booths upstairs.

I'd also be for a cheaper, burger place that is open all the time. I love Downtown Seafood for burgers and shrimp, but they only open for lunch and in the evenings for special downtown events. There are no places like that that are open in the evenings/night.

Downtown Seafood would make bank from 1-3 AM Friday/Saturday night.

There are laws against open containers downtown? I've never had an issue and always walk freely with drinks. I was always told it was allowed on third street and the surrounding area

I was down there about a month back. It was like LP and NBR had descended on 3rd. I had one drink and left. I was even tempted to walk down to Hound Dogs to have a drink at the old man gay bar. Would have been 10000x better than anything on 3rd.

Just about everything at Bellue's is great. Mostly carry-out. And it's not downtown. Across from Exxon refinery

I think the Metro Council hasn't actually made a decision. The state law says its up to the Parish. EBR Parish says its prohibited except for "special occasions." I think it's in a spot where if the next mayor wants to be a hard-arse they can.

Did they invent the turducken?

For some reason it is in my head they did. Maybe just the seafood stuffed turducken.

I don't think so. They certainly don't advertise it in the restaurant

No one knows about it because it's on the "bad" side of town.

I saw that 600 Main is going to reopen as a bar called Mr. Biggz. Just going by that name I'm assuming it is going to be another north Baton Rouge style bar. The owner of that building is such a douche bag for allowing those style bars down town. The Spanish Town residents have started to push back on these type of establishments at that location after a gunfight broke out at a previous bar there and spilled into their neighborhood. I know the neighboring businesses are growing tired of that property and its owner.

A 24hr gas station with a c-store(new RaceTrac), not one that closes at 9pm and the tank filler gets shot in the middle of the night. Also a CVS or Rite Aid would be clutch, drug store and liquor store all in one.

The owner of the building should really be able to open up whatever kind of business he wants. If you don't like it, simply don't go there. I know I won't.

I've been living here since they opened in January. I absolutely love it. I pay $998 for a one bedroom.

Man, I want to live in Spanish Town. I keep meeting people who live there for dirt cheap, but every time I look, I only find places out of my price range. KILLS ME.

Nothing wrong with Hound Dogs. I've gone a few times for pool. It's not a "gay" bar even if it is a gay bar.. if that makes sense.

We don't need anymore bars downtown but we do need good restaurants. Jolie Pearl and Little Village are the only nice consistent places to eat. Poor Boy Lloyd is good but closes at 3 on the week days. As someone who live downtown, I want more places to eat.

Frankly, I hope The Office moves to Livingston Parish and City Bar opens in Port Allen so they can keep the trash over there.
