just want to say something I noticed. I don't want anyone to give me simpathy on the matter. it is a thread so people can talk about the news. I just happen to stumble upon this and read a few things and wanted to let people know what I knew being family. and I just wanted to comfort the ones about Audrey the daughter that she is OK. we do have her now she is safe. so by all means don't change what you want to say just cause I was in here. thank you..

Thats good that both grandparents will be involved, and that your family has that good of an attitude about the situation .

PANAMA CITY BEACH — A breakup, a series of Facebook posts and a weekend at Thunder Beach Motorcycle Rally led up to a bloody murder-suicide that left three people dead at the Hampton Inn and Suites early Saturday morning, according to police.
Mark Stokes, 37, of Enterprise, Alabama, allegedly entered into the hotel room his estranged wife, Amanda Stokes, 28, was sharing with her friend Kenneth Krause, 30, at 4 a.m., shooting and killing them both before turning the gun on himself.
The bodies were then discovered by hotel maintenance staff Saturday morning, who were alerted by guests reporting blood was dripping through the floor and down from the ceiling in the rooms below, according to Panama City Beach Police Chief Drew Whitman.
According to investigators, Amanda Stokes and Mark Stokes had recently separated, with Mark Stokes moving out of the family home in Enterprise. The pair were active duty in the Army National Guard and were stationed at Fort Rucker, Alabama, where he was a major and she a sergeant. They also owned a business together, Chainsaws Corner Bar in Graceville, according to Whitman.
Last Wednesday, in a public social media post, Amanda Stokes stated she and her husband were no longer together, and she proceeded to post several photos from Panama City Beach and the Thunder Beach spring rally.
That same day, Mark Stokes publicly posted on Facebook he would be getting “back in the saddle” and making the 90-mile ride to Thunder Beach.
Whitman said the Stokes previously rented a vacation home to share with their employees, family and friends during the motorcycle rally. Whitman said they both knew the other would be at the rally, but because of the separation, Stokes opted to stay at the Hampton Inn and Suites down the road with Krause and a few other friends. One of her last Facebook posts, put up Friday morning, shows her and Krause together at the rally.
Later that afternoon, Mark Stokes made a post inviting his friends to the beach house for a post-Thunder Beach celebration.
Less than 24 hours later, all three would be dead.
Early Saturday morning, Mark Stokes entered Room 222 at the Hampton Inn using a key police say he obtained from the front desk and dead-bolted the door from the inside, locking himself in and keeping anyone who would interfere out. When officers responded to the scene four hours later, they had to break into the room.
Whitman said the scene was contained to the hotel room and they were not searching for any additional suspects. He said the case remains open, as his department awaits autopsy and toxicology results from the victims.
There was concern, based on information gathered and a post on Facebook that the Stokes’ 5-year-old daughter may have been in town at the time of the shooting. Whitman said that although the daughter had been at the rally on Thursday, her grandmother came down to pick her up that day and by Saturday “she was safe in Alabama.”

I would guess he shot them at 4am? Nobody in the next rooms over heard gunshots going off?

Also found it weird that it was the leaking blood that alerted people, and not the 3+ gunshots

exactly,wtf.
You think he had a silencer on the gun?
seems like police would have mentioned why nobody heard gunshots if he had a silencer

He had to of had a silencer. You can't tell me that he went into a hotel room and shot 2 people and himself and nobody recalled hearing gunshots at 4am or 8am.

Had to have had a silencer. The hotel must have been packed with the motorcycle thing in town, and the rooms there are packed in pretty tightly. There's no way three+ gunshots go unnoticed at ANY time of day
Posted on 5/8/18 at 11:17 am to Costanza
Yeah, because if you’re gonna kill your wife and yourself, you want to make sure nobody hears you. Don’t want to get caught.
Posted on 5/8/18 at 11:19 am to INFIDEL
Maybe he went in not intending to kill himself? How else do you explain the lack of gunshot noise?

I think you may have seen too many movies. Shooting a gun with a silencer attached is still quite loud.
Here's a guy shooting inside a house with a silencer with a few different calibers.
Posted on 5/8/18 at 12:04 pm to jeeperscreepers
damn, still loud enough to hear in a hotel room next door like a Hampton.
Very Odd nobody reported the gunshots, or nobody cared

lol I'm even confused why no one heard it. only thing I can guess is some hotels try to have sound proof walls but it don't always help but u put a silencer in the picture it might have knocked the sound down enough that people may of thought they were watching a shooter up movie next door. and if anyone is wondering Audrey the daughter is safe back here with us in Missouri. she not taken it well right now
