Yep, the L&TML and I are going on a West Carribean cruise to the above-mentioned destinations.
All tips/clues/advice are sincerely appreciated.

I like saving money. Plus the cheaper inside cabins don't rock as much in heavy seas

I plan on hitting up a tour of the tequila distillery in Cozumel. It's cheap. Look it up.

If you get sucked into going to the Mayan ruins, make sure before you return on the bus with all the free 40's of Del Sol, that you empty the bladder because it's a long drive back.

Check this pic out from Cozumel. Taking it back on the ship might be a different story.

i was playing golf in mexico about a year ago. and i went to pick up my ball which was OB (like that's a surprise) and there was a giant lizard right next to my ball...scared the shite out of me, because i've never seen those beasts at Webb or Briarwood.

Cozumel,

As previously posted, Sr. Frogs would be good choice at Cozumel. Renting scooters to cruise around the island used to be good, but I haven't done in a while.

As the bow of the ship faces port, prior to last hurricane there was a Sr. Frogs and half off the starboard side. If you have snorkel gear, you can so some nice snorkeling right off the beach. It's the same snorkeling the catamaran day trips take you too.

The Mayan ruins at Playa del Carmen are o.k.

Roatan ... don't think I've ever been.

Progresso is an industrial port. The primary purpose is trips to Chichen Itzu (sp?) The bus ride there is very painful, with an early start.

I've never been to Chichen Itzu, but the documentaries i've seen show it as quite visit. If I ever hit Progresso again, I'm gonna splurge for the Chopper ride.

Staying on board the ship in port can be an interesting day ... everyone else piles off and you get this massive floating resort to you and the wife.

Enjoy.

we were playing golf near cancun last fall and i swear between the iguanas and all the other crazy animals running around, i thought we were at a mexican zoo.

If you go on the Fury Boats, ask for my friend Bla-Bla, his real name is Eric.

Its all the Ritas and Beer you can drink!

as mentioned, the best thing to do in cozumel (besides Senor Frog's) is snorkeling.

if you're interested in the ruins at chichen itza, it is definitely fascinating and interesting. but there is A LOT of walking involved and pretty much an all-day affair. and yes, the bus ride sucks.

oh, and while you're in mexico be sure to catch one of these...
