I support law enforcement as a whole and arresting/putting away criminals etc. I cannot stand individual stories like this and when cops seem to just be power tripping assholes

You can support law enforcement and call out sorry arse cops like this

He’s a state police officer, that requires at least a college degree.

why didn't he go to the hospital with his son?

It sounds like they couldn't go because the police was holding them up.

Correct. In La if pulled over on a TS and the officer asks for your ID you have to comply. You can be arrested for obstruction if you fail to do so.

Yeah, driving is different. You're required to have a driver's license and to present that license if you are the driver of a vehicle that has been stopped for whatever reason. That's how it is everywhere, I'm pretty sure.

If you're the passenger in a vehicle that has been pulled over you are not required to show ID as a part of a normal traffic stop. They can ask for your ID, even make you think you have to give it to them, but you don't unless they can articulate what crime you're involved in.

You can work for a dept and use years of experience in lieu of a degree.

No, I simply asked my daughter what the students at school were saying. It’s that makes me a cool mom then you’re ignorant.

Most everyone in LP knows his mom and they’re not a trashy family. You like to rewrite narratives.
