Saw an ad on here about donating cars to Bridge House and getting a tax deduction. Anyone do this before?

You bet. I feel it’s a great cause. Someone with a black soul like yourself probably sees it differently.

The guy that ran Bridge House was a retreat master one year at Manresa. Interesting guy and did a good job. I believe he owned a Buick dealership. Can’t re,ember his name and he may have passed away.

It’s a good organization and worth the donation.

That place helped save my life. I actually ended up buying a car from them as well. Dennis and Mike are great.

So they take donations and turn around and sell for a profit.

Sorta like Goodwill?

No, the funds all get directed into the treatment center which at anytime can House around 150 alcoholics or addicts in 3 different houses. Within the treatment the clients are given jobs as work therapy. From what I understand the program was originally targeting the homeless. It was designed to not only help them get sober but also train them to join the workforce again as productive members of society. They go through a few months of work therapy, then are shown the process of making resumes, networking, and interviewing for jobs outside of the center.

I did this a few of years ago. Had a 2000 Ford Explorer that had a blown head gasket.
They give you an option $500 when they pick it up, or wait until it sells and they will give you that number minus repairs as the tax write-off. I took the $500 receipt and called it a day. They did come pick it up and it was a very easy process.

Bridge House/Grace House saved my mom’s life after every luxury rehab did not. It is a wonderful organization. Do it.

It's cool when you have the intelligence to be a contrarian and be amusing.

It sucks when you aren't amusing.

You suck.
