It amazes me how the media spun this BS…..

This.

My daughter goes there and my wife (no pics) teaches there. Neither are woke nor is the school pushing a woke agenda.

The security guards also patrol the neighborhood surrounding the school to make sure nothing happens to any of the cars.

I won’t go into specifics but I literally just got the numbers and this whole thread premise is bullshite.

Yeah, several things in the thread were BS.

Someone posted a few pages ago that the number is around 130 for 8th grade.

Not me, it's their main sacrament. The Left is full of blood lust while trying to portray/project it onto their socio-political rivals.

Speaking of protests. When the closure of St. Rita School, across the street, was announced one family protested before and after Masses for months, damn near a year. They'd stay on the Broad Place neutral ground, but with signs calling pastor, Fr. P C a racist, calling out the archbishop for allowing racism, racism is alive and well, and any other manner of epithet. They claimed he was depriving their daughter of a good education. The last two weekends they did it, they started bringing a boom box to try and make parishioners take notice.

The school's enrollment had dropped to 174, 26 fewer than necessary to stay open.

No link, family member sat in on the exploratory meeting with Mr. Retif who was a big player in the operation. Shaw, where my family member worked, was struggling with numbers and Jesuit was considering opening a campus on the Westbank to accommodate a large number of students who lived in the area. Not sure why that's so unbelievable.

That’s all hearsay…..

Still doesn’t prove your claim….

Do you realize the logistics for Jesuit to purchase a school from the Archdiocese…and how much it would cost…

Ever see Shaw’s campus, it’s huge and very nice. Being a Rummel alumnus, I wish Rummel had that much land access…

I realize Jesuit does have a decent Westbank enrollment, but is it big enough to take over another school ?

I seriously doubt that Jesuit would purchase an existing archdiocesan property, but ya never know. In my estimation, they would want to make a splash and build a new, fancy campus like Holy Cross did.

Shaw has always had land but the campus was kind of a dump. They have made major improvements in last 10-15 years so kudos for that.

I always thought Rummel should have moved out towards north Kenner, north of the hospital. Kind of like where Kenner discovery is now.

I had gotten the impression that Shaw was getting close to having to close a few years back. They were really struggling

Why, the school has been there since ‘62, wouldn’t make much economic sense.

School just went through millions in capitol improvements. Just wish they had the land for their own stadium.

Dominican is a good school with smart girls from good families, on the whole. The problem is the other side of Pine Street, which was fine when the campus was put there in the early 1960s, but it's not fine anymore.

As a practical matter, though, all schools now have private guards on patrol no matter where they are. De La Salle has an armed guard circling the campus in a golf cart all day, and that school is in the middle of the uptown golden rectangle.

Shaw did almost close. Enrollment was getting under 400. I'm not sure what all the downvotes are for or a dude asking for a link to a meeting that took place 15 years ago.

Maybe people are thinking I'm saying Jesuit was going to move to the Shaw campus. That's not what I said. It would have been a second campus.
