Other people who live here or have grown up here have chimed in already, but this thread is another glowing example of the OT not knowing shite about New Orleans. The idea of a woke Catholic school in New Orleans is hilarious.
Joe Biden is catholic.
I left Nola due to crime and the increased cost of living. I can take the increase in cost, but not with the crime.
Honestly have you spoken to everyone who has left New Orleans? No? Yeah you don’t know jack shite.

Wife actually interviewed for an admin position there a few years ago. I don't think they were interested in her "Conservative Catholic" agenda, but a main knock was you're not from here, you don't understand the culture and tradition"

Tf does that have to do with catholic schools in New Orleans?

Okay well one person who inject politics into every post on a college sports message board moved due to crime, so I guess everyone else has too.

No disrespect, but one of the reasons we picked DHS.

There is no sole reason because the city is a shite-hole and there are many reasons. I don't think anyone honesty believes crime is the sole reason people are choosing to live elsewhere and how high on the priority crime falls (as compared to a myriad of other shite) is strictly personal and changes from person to person.
Are people leaving? Yes
Is private school enrollees decline? Yes
Is insurance too high? Yes
Is crime a factor in decisions to leave? Yes

It's a combination of things.
My Father's home owners insurance just went from 12k a year to 18k a year. The city is taxing the hell out of anyone with wealth and the other 70 plus percent that are not contributing are robbing and killing the remaining tax base. Let it burn. Detroit 2.0. Soon that cancer will spread to the Northshore and its all she wrote for this State.

Home owner’s, or wind and hail?
We live in Metairie, our home owner’s is about the same and our wind and hail jump up dramatically.

MrLSU does which is why I called him out and have done so previously. Every Nola thread he posts in has the same “people are fleeing the city due to crime” line in it. Is it a factor? I’m sure. Is it the sole reason? No.

You pay $12k a year for homeowners?
How much coverage (including contents) is that for?

Private schools across the country are having record enrollment because of parents not wanting public schools to tell their kids that men can have periods. This is even in shitty inflation times. If there is a problem with enrollment there is another factor causing it.
I went to a Catholic high school and enrollment suffered the previous 7 to 10 years before 2020. Then each of the last 3 years they have broken freshmen enrollment records, and this is during the highest inflationary period in 40 years. At a recent board meeting, The enrollment director said the overwhelming response is that people are sick of the shite being pushed on kids in public schools or are moving to private in anticipation that it will be pushed on their kids.
