Unfortunately, there is no quick fix.
Our dog was sprayed and my wife immediately washed him multiple times with peroxide, dawn, etc. It took the initial "big" odor off, but the smell lingered on him and in the house for 7-10 days (at least). Buy some charcoal odor reducing pouches and put them around the house. Open windows during the day to try to circulate some fresh air. That's really about all you can do. The only saving grace for us was it happened in early spring where it was at least cool enough outside to make the windows being open pleasant.

Our dog got sprayed one evening in our backyard. Used all the usual remedies, peroxide/baking soda/tomato juice. It did a good job of removing most of the odor, but I swear, even a year later we'd still catch a whiff of skunk every once in a while. It lingers.

Trapping them isn't the problem. Getting them out of the trap without them spraying is

My wife's little havapoo got sprayed last year. She ran whimpering into the house and before anyone could stop her jumped right into a laundry basket of clean clothes.

Yes and if possible find some charcoal filters in your size.
Open bags of charcoal and let it sit where the smell is worst.

Train Mae to not get near a skunk. I always rub some Tabasco sauce under my dogs lip flaps when she does something wrong as a training method. Works great.

Shoot the skunk. They are stubborn little POSs, and it will be back.
This reminds me of when I was working at a nursing home in Lake Charles. One afternoon I was leaving work and we had some residents on outdoor patio area. I told them bye and noticed some food scraps on the ground. I asked why those were there and one resident goes, "Oh thats for the skunk that shows up right at dark." I thought she was going crazy but told our maintenance guy. He had a trap and set it up near the scraps that night. When I showed up the next morning I saw the biggest skunk I have ever seen in that cage
We called animal control and they drew straws to see who would respond to the call. The lady was so mad she had to deal with that.

Whip her and put her stinking arse back outside where she belongs.
Then once you are done with the wife, take care of the dog.

I honestly didn't do that much last time it happened, but it only got her in a spot on her side. Just regular bath and sleep in the kennel.
Smell went away after two days unless you actually sniffed her fur. The worst part was it when it first happened. I was running around thinking the house was on fire then noticed the dog had a wet spot on her and the smell started turning to more onions and realized she got skunked.

This is almost exactly my experience this morning.
We are all doing better.
Mae has had 3 peroxide and baking soda baths.
House still smells, but is getting better.
Thanks all for the replies

When I was a kid, I got sprayed by a skunk. Mom was pissed. I didn’t have to go to school for about a week!

Ozone machine cleared out the smell in my house completely after the same thing happened to us.
