I think your face smelling like dog pecker should be a higher priority than concern about gnats. However, fixing the one may indeed solve the other.

Nope. Exactly how close do you have to get to see the gnats. At what point do you tell yourself "I'm too close to my dogs junk"?

We use vanilla extract mixed with rubbing alcohol in a spray bottle works great
