Was 30 when we married just to lazy to combine accounts and frankly she in a lot of ways more frugal so just as happy.

This is where we are at

My wife buys me presents with her money. It's all our money but we have separate accounts and 1 joint account.

We share our money so everything comes from the joint account. It does make it more difficult to hide certain gifts though.

We don't buy for each other, we buy throughout the year. No kids so we do what we want when we want too. She runs the checking and bills. My only expectation is a weekly trip to the liquor store fore Makers 46 and a stop at the local humidor for my Ligas

My wife has not worked in 11 years so it's my money.

We don't buy each other presents. If we want something, we just buy it. As others have said though, it's our money.

Her money, we do not share a joint banking account and never will

If you're married, her money is your money and your money is hers.
If not, what is the point of being married if you can't trust and communicate with your spouse?

We don't really do presents for Christmas. We just buy stuff we want throughout the year.

When I was married, we had a joint acct., but I managed the money. My wife loved presents. It didn't have to be big or expensive. She just loved presents, and I loved buying them for her. I never wanted presents, but had to come up with something every year for her and the kids. But, money came from the same account.

My wife would no longer be my wife if she ever thought about this

How many couples here have separate money? I've been married a long time and it's always our money going in the same bank account.

I get the same thing every year; a bottle of Don Julio 1942 and a pair of Darn Tough Merino wool socks so it probably goes on our CC and gets paid at the end of the month like everything else.
