That reminds me of a dream I had one night when I was a kid in the 70's. I still remember it because it was so strange. I was up on stage singing Lady Love with Lou Rawls, and Scooby-Doo. Still cracks me up thinking about it.

What other decade would feature a Native American band with a top 5 hit and was considered the fourth all time favorite song of 1974...

Plus can you imagine the Name Redbone now. SWJ would cancel it straight away.

70s were great because people didn't give a shite, and partied on. Economy was shite, music and parties were awesome. Until Disco..

There were some decent disco songs but it helped create the mindless formula driven music that continues today.

I was born at end of 70s but it was the peak of the Stones, ZZ Top, Allman Brothers, Skynyrd, Zeppelin, Billy Joel, Paul Simon, and even started the Hip Hop trend with Rapper’s Delight.

Plus the Nola scene with The Meters, Longhair, Dr. John, etc.

Great decade for music.

Afternoon Delight was playing on the radio

Could not have happened, Clean. Perhaps you heard it on your 5th birthday (or later). The Starland Vocal Band (out of D.C.) didn't release "Afternoon Delight" until 1976. I remember hearing "Afternoon Delight" while in law school at "Clyde's" on M Street in Georgetown.

One of my favorite 70's one hit wonders song is Dancin' in the Moonlight.

Every now and then it will get stuck in my head. You really can't dislike a song that uses the 70's expression "out a sight" twice in one song.

70's was the greatest and I survived it despite some very poor habits.

For music? probably. Life in general? I'd go with the 80's.

Whipping Post

That’s what makes the 70’s such an awesome decade for music... Everything from blues, rock, metal, punk rock even disco and dance made it such an awesome decade.
Unfortunately we’ll never see it again...
